The initial impetus for starting the company was to create an economically viable business that embodied both environmental and social responsibility. Our goal from the outset was to develop a company that set itself apart from the large-scale, production and export model commonly found throughout Java and Bali. By taking control of every phase of the business cycle, including the sourcing of wood, design, production, finishing, export and marketing of furniture, we have been able to provide sustainable livelihoods for local craftsmen while remaining viable as a successful business.
